Drive Rules
To keep our drive safe and pleasurable for all friends, please make sure to stick to the rules stated below while being part of any PCB UAE Meet and Drive event.
Important: Drive can be joined ONLY by those already in the community and owning Cayman or Boxster, no other Porsche models are allowed.
A car convoy will consist of four parts:
Lead Car - Leads the convoy and adjusting the speed of cars according to current road conditions and speed limits.
Middle Car - Relay messages between Lead and Tail Car using 2-way radio. Help ensure convoy stays in formation.
Tail Car - Control convoy and contact Lead Car / Middle Car, if the cars at the rear are falling behind and have to over speed to keep up.
PCB Convoy Cars - To follow simple rules
Do not pass, unless in the case of emergency or waved ahead by the Lead or Middle Cars.
Watch the leader for passing or upcoming turns (use indicators).
Do not let the car in front or behind you get out of sight.
Flash your lights or message on radio if any trouble, hazard or emergency.
General Drive Info:
Arrive at the starting point in plenty of time for the briefing on the route and destination of the trip.
Check your car prior to the convoy, ensure all fluids, pressure, etc. are in tip top condition.
Please be ready to depart on time with a full fuel tank and washed car.
If you are going to leave the convoy before the end of the trip, please notify the trip leader and others.
Get yourself familiar with a drive route to avoid inconvenience and delays of the convoy on the road.
Rules of the Road:
All vehicles in the convoy should drive with headlights or DRL’s on.
Our line of cars should not dominate the road. If others are trying to pass the convoy, please let them do so.
Whenever the convoy stops, if at all feasible, make sure you pull completely off the road.
Always use your indicators in plenty of time to guide cars in the convoy, as well as other road users.
If you want the convoy to stop, flash your headlights. If the car behind flashes its headlights, flash yours until the convoy leader pulls over or contact by phone.
Don’t follow too close “bumper to bumper”. When in a convoy keeping good distances is a must for safety as well as an act of kindness to the car you are following.
When the convoy passes through a congested area, it should try and stop as soon as safely practicable to regroup.
Only registered/insured owners should drive their vehicles during an organised PCB event - Allowing another unfamiliar driver behind the wheel of a PCB car could jeopardise the convoy.
Driver takes overall responsibility for any personal and public risks or damages that may arise as a result of their participation - including but not limited to injuries/ property damage, fines, speeding tickets and at their own expense.
PCB UAE Community, its Admin(s), organisers and/or participants shall not be held liable for any and all damages, personal injuries (including death), and/or claims which may be sustained directly or indirectly arising out of participation in any Drives or Events.
Overtaking & Speeding:
Overtake only when legal and safe to do so.
Always stay within the legal speed limit.
If the traffic is flowing slower than the legal speed limit go with the traffic flow.
The Lead Car should establish a sensible pace for the convoy. It is each individual driver's responsibility to keep the vehicle behind him or her in sight, ensuring the convoy stays together.
If the car behind slows down, please slow down with it. If each car does this the convoy will stay together.
Do not go faster than you feel comfortable driving!
Sincerely yours PCB Community Administration
Driving Safely is your personal responsibility!
